Antismart
Healthily deny permissions.
Turns an ordinary, Google-certified Android phone into a calmer phone you can't cheat your way out of.
Two modes. Block mode keeps the phone as it is but takes away what you choose: social media by name, and every game and every web browser, recognised by Android itself, so new ones are caught too. Allow mode is a real dumbphone: only the apps on your list stay. In both, a blocked app you install in a weak moment is gone within seconds, and the apps you kept, such as your bank and your national ID, keep updating from Google Play as normal. There is no switch on the phone: the rules can only be changed from a computer over USB.
Antismart uses Android's own device-management feature (device owner), the same mechanism companies use for work phones. It needs no account, no server and no internet connection.
Status: early, tested only on a Google Pixel (Android 16). Not on Google Play, and it can't be: Google doesn't allow this kind of app there.
Getting started
Let your AI do it. Give AI-SETUP.md to your AI assistant and ask it to follow it. It asks what you want blocked or kept, then takes you through the computer, USB debugging, the phone and the rules, one step at a time. Danish apps, grouped, with verified package names: profiles/catalogue-dk.md.
By hand, in short: a phone with no accounts on it yet (new, or just reset), USB debugging on,
then gradlew assembleDebug, node tools/antismart.mjs setup, your lists, plan, arm. Run
node tools/antismart.mjs for all commands.
Building
JDK 17+ (21 recommended), Android SDK 36, Node.js 22+.
gradlew testDebugUnitTest lintDebug assembleDebug.
